Care and Support (Operations)

NomadE5 Care & Support (Operations) offers housing and specialist care and support services to people with mental health problems, learning disabilities and those who are homeless.

This support is offered through supported housing, outreach support, and 24-hour residential care schemes, as well as social activities in the community.

We believe that sustained mental health is dependent upon empowered service users living independent lives as fully integrated members of the community.

We strive to help achieve this by offering support and promoting recovery and lifestyle techniques which emphasise self-determination, participation, rights and citizenship.

Our 5-year vision for care and support is to become the best provider of care and support with housing services in the north-east of England by 2010. Efforts to achieve this vision will be founded upon the following approaches:

• A culture of empowerment amongst staff teams.
• A culture of learning within staff teams leading to an environment which stimulates change and development.
• A culture of change in which there is an acceptance of the need to question current ways of working to ensure that staff are not afraid to experiment.
• A culture of innovation in which services are subject to challenge and review to stimulate new thinking about the ways in which services are provided.
