Reporting a repair
Report your repairs to us. We aim to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.
You need to act quickly. Seeking help now will help prevent added court costs and the possible loss of your home.
Rent
It is possible to get help with rent in terms of housing benefit, you can make a claim for this by contacting your local council's housing benefit section or you can get advice on whether you might qualify from an advisor (see the question on where to get help or click here)
Talk to your landlord as soon as you know that you might miss a payment!
Mortgages
Sadly there is far less help available with mortgages although you might qualify if you are in receipt of income support, jobseekers allowance, pension credits or sickness benefits such as incapacity benefit or the new employment and support allowance. You are likely to need further advice
You might be able to negotiate with your lender but success can depend on the amount of arrears, which lender you have and the chances that your financial situation might improve. Getting help might make the process easier.
Remember that some lenders start taking court action if you miss as few as two monthly payments!

Look at your budget; can you cut back on some less essential items?
