Supported housing

Our supported housing service now provides approximately 550 units and bed spaces with partnerships including 42 support agencies across 14 local authority areas. By working together we offer housing to those who would otherwise be unable to live independently. These groups include:

  • The elderly.
  • Children who require respite care.
  • Asylum seekers.
  • Vulnerable young people.
  • Ex offenders.
  • People with substance misuse problems.
  • People with learning difficulties or mental health problems.

We have become a member of the North Tyneside Valuing People Working Group, It's My Life Steering Group and the Gateshead Action on Homelessness Strategic Forum.

We are also working with Interactive Development Ltd. on the design and production of a tenants' handbook for people with learning difficulties.
