What repairs are you responsible for?
There are some repairs which you are responsible for. Before your tenancy started your home was inspected and any necessary works were carried out to bring it up to standard. You are responsible for providing, replacing or repairing the following:
- Draught proofing (you may be eligible to get help towards the cost of this)
- Curtain rails
- Tidy dryers
- Strip lights (tubes and starters) and light bulbs
- Door bells
- Minor adjustments to kitchen units, cupboards and drawers
- Wall and floor tiles
- Coat hooks
- Trimming of doors for carpet clearance
- Work on minor cracks in ceilings and walls
- Toilet seats
- Fuses in consumer units and fused spurs
If we are called to a repair and we find that was it your responsibility (based on the above criteria) you may be charged for the visit.
