Updates - NomadE5 announcement on customer data
NomadE5 Housing Association wishes to inform its customers and stakeholders that a laptop computer containing a limited amount of sensitive personal data has gone missing during a re-organisation at its offices in Newcastle.
There is no evidence to suggest anyone has been able to access or use the data since it went missing.
The data was collected from a sample of customers as part of a routine programme to check on customer satisfaction.
The data includes the names and addresses of around 1,100 affected customers and up to three items of their sensitive personal information - ethnic origin; religion and any disabilities.
All those customers affected by the loss of data have now been contacted.
We take data security very seriously, and would like to apologise to our customers for this lapse in our procedures.
We have assured all those affected that no financial information, other personal or sensitive data, nor anything which relates to their tenancy, has been lost.
We have informed the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and our regulator, the Tenancy Services Authority (TSA), and the issue is being dealt with appropriately.
Senior NomadE5 staff have reviewed the company's security procedures to ensure there will be no repeat of this incident, and all staff are to receive additional training in data security.
The company has also changed the way it collects and manages customer satisfaction data to ensure we do not risk any further data loss.
Anyone with concerns about their personal information being contained on the laptop should contact our Customer Services department on (0191) 268 4800 where a member of our team will be pleased to help.
